When a payment fails

The grace period, what gets restricted, and how to restore service.

Sequence
Past due → grace period → suspended
Fix
Update the card; retry is automatic

A failed renewal doesn't cut you off instantly. The account enters past due with a grace period: you'll see prompts, retries happen automatically, and service continues while you fix the payment method.

If the grace period lapses

The account moves to suspended: builder console actions are restricted until payment succeeds. Updating your card triggers a retry; success restores the account immediately.

Important

Your customers' applications are the priority during dunning. Restrictions target the builder console first — document the exact end-state for tenant-facing apps in a prolonged suspension before launch.
