How appliance updates work

Signed updates, health-gated switchover, and what to do if one fails.

Appliances update themselves: they pull signed, versioned bundles, install alongside the running version, and switch over only after the new version passes health checks. A failed health check means the appliance keeps running the current version — an update can fail without an outage.

Your responsibilities

• Keep the appliance powered and connected; updates apply on their own.
• Watch the fleet status page for any appliance reporting a held-back update.
