Automatic appliance updates are a planned early-access capability. No generally available fleet update service or operator recovery path has been validated yet; do not assume an appliance will update itself.

The intended update design uses signed, versioned bundles installed alongside the running version. Health checks would gate switchover and keep the previous version available when a candidate fails. This is a design description, not an instruction to enable unattended updates today.

For an operator-assisted deployment

Agree on a reviewed update and rollback plan with the BuildWithHQ operator before changing the appliance.
Verify the signed bundle, health checks, and rollback result for that specific deployment.
