# Getting help

What to check first, what to include when you write in, and where.

## In brief

- **Before writing in:** Search these docs + the error reference
- **Response:** See support policy

Start with the search box and [error code reference](error-codes.html). The reference covers common codes and families; if your response is not listed, use the details below.

## Reading public documentation from a script

The [public source index](../llms.txt), [combined documentation](../llms-full.txt), and raw Markdown links are public documentation. If a scripted download receives Cloudflare error `1010` while a browser can read the same URL, give the client an accurate application name and version in its `User-Agent`. Cloudflare documents this default-client behavior in its [error 1010 guide](https://developers.cloudflare.com/support/troubleshooting/http-status-codes/cloudflare-1xxx-errors/error-1010/). Application API requests still require their normal credentials and permissions.

This Python example identifies the example client. Use your own application's name and version when integrating it:

```
from urllib.request import Request, urlopen
request = Request(
    "https://support.buildwithhq.com/llms.txt",
    headers={"User-Agent": "BuildWithHQDocsExample/1.0"},
)
with urlopen(request, timeout=15) as response:
    source_index = response.read().decode("utf-8")
print(source_index)
```

## If you still need us

Include these and you'll usually get a one-reply resolution:

- The **exact error code and message**, verbatim
- What you were doing, step by step, and what you expected
- The application and page involved, and roughly when it happened
- A screenshot if the problem is visual
